Projectile Launched Horizontally

What is projectile motion? Projectile motion is the curved path that an object follows when thrown, launched, or otherwise projected near the surface of the Earth. Pk, you know what projeectile motion is, but how about horizontal motion of a projectile? A projectiles' motion can be represented by the equation deltax=vmultiplied by deltat. Now that we know the basics of the horizontal motion we will be solving the following problem.
A baseball rolls off a 0.70m high desk and strikes the floor 0.25 m away from the base of the desk. How fast was the ball rolling?
First let us start and write down our givens which are:
y=0.70m x=0.35m and ay= -9.81m/s2
What we are trying to find is vx.
You can graph your x and y on a coordinate plane if you want a visual representation of the problem.
The equation to find the answer is vx=(√ay/2deltay)deltax
After plugging in your values and solving you should get the answer 0.043m
